About this course

5G is an immensely disruptive technology that is progressively deeply transforming our world. We have merely grasped the benefits that 5G will directly or indirectly provide. Network Apps, which facilitate 5G Programmability and the exploitation of 5G to provide benefits in any area, as well as the use cases that they enable, require to be validated before its utilization on a real 5G environment, its commercialization and production use. This course will show how 5G Network Apps are validated, to ensure their proper performance, quality and value provided before onboarding it in a 5G Network for production usage.

What you will learn

  • What is the software validation process, its significance for software production
  • How your developed Network App can be validated.
  • The different stages and aspects tested in the EVOLVED-5G Validation of a Network App.
  • The different frameworks, entities and tools provided by the EVOLVED-5G project for the validation of 5G Network Apps.
  • Required steps to execute tests in a CI/CD validation pipeline from the EVOLVED-5G framework.


It is recommended to have taken previous courses regarding Network Apps Development prior to joining this course. Some technology background is desirable.

Although it is not strictly necessary to follow this course, it is recommended to have taken previously a course on Network Apps, or to be familiar with this concept.

Jorge Moratinos

Jorge Moratinos is a senior software developer in Network Innovation, working in OnLife for Research and Development in Telefonica. He has contributed to the development of the Network App Certification framework of the Horizon 2020 project EVOLVED-5G.

Regel González Usach

Associated Researcher at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) Regel is a Research & Development engineer at the Universitat Politècnica de València, at the Real-Time System Laboratory. She holds a PhD on Digital Enablers, with an special focus on IoT and interoperability, and she has participated in 5G-related European H2020 projects such as EVOLVED-5G and 5GENESIS. She has been involved in software developments that mixed 5G with Artificial Intelligence and IoT technologies.

Dr Charles Bailly

Charles Bailly is a Human Computer Interaction researcher at the company IMMERSION, which has a large panel of activities around mixed reality. He has participated in several industrial and research projects, such as H2020 Innovation EVOLVED-5G project.
